MERRY CHRISTMAS and a JOYOUS NEW YEAR!
I hope you had a very enjoyable Christmas in memory of our dear Savior’s humble entry into this world for our behalf. This Christmas season I was able to get away and consider and mediate on what God did for us. His example of humbling Himself by coming to this world in various extreme forms of humility just really touched my heart to ask God to help me to be more humble before Him and other people. Then the Lord allowed me to think about His exampleship by the life He modeled before us. His modelship of how I can effectively invest my life into the lives of others just really stuck out to me.
I would like to update you on what’s been happening in and around my life since a few months ago. As the Lord allowed me to publish Soulwinning 101 A Practical Approach in Doing the Great Commission, the Lord worked it out for me to come here to the Ohio valley and serve various people in different ways. In preceding this trip, the Lord had laid on my heart some things He would allow me to do in service of His Kingdom. However, as I am nearing the end of this service, I am filled with joy and wonderment of how the Lord has done much more than I envisioned. While being here in the Ohio valley, the Lord gave me the opportunity to serve with one church to go out and do purposeful witnessing (door-to-door soulwinning). God also allowed me to either preach or give my full testimony to various churches, two colleges, and one state prison. Then the Lord allowed me to do some one-on-one mentorship with a few people while here—mostly getting in the Bible to see what God says about their concerns.
While being here in Ohio, God has allowed me the opportunities to visit with my family extensively and to serve them in different ways. God also did the unthinkable! While here, the Lord brought a dear family member to Ohio from another state. To make a long incredible story short, he is a brother that I did not know I had until recently. It has been such a gracious wonderful and sometimes sorrowful time to hang out with him and get to know him in a brotherly friendship. God has allowed me to do some biblical mentorship in his life. As I look back at my life, I can see how God has been preparing me for this day that I never knew would happen. It has been such a divine time and I am speechless to try to explain how God worked it all out for me to be here and spend this quality much needed time with my family too. God as usual just blows my mind away (Ephesians 3:20).
I am scheduled to return to my mission field of San Diego, California on January 10, 2012. Though I have been blessed and joyous to serve the Lord and people here in Ohio, I am looking forward to returning to San Diego. My heart is with the people over there—the gangs, prison work, and a quality of giving my life to men for Christ’s sake. Please keep praying for me. I really covet your prayers. As the date approaches for me to returns, there are some needs that I already can see. I do not know how God will meet the needs, but I am confident of one thing—Philippians 1:6—He will accomplish what He has set out to do. I am only honored that He allows you and I to be part of what He is doing.
As I mentioned before, my second book out of a four book series came out a couple months ago. I am still working with my publishing company to release the third book. It is set to come out around the end of February or beginning of March. God allowed some complications to arise so the book had to be pushed back. However, these complications worked out for God’s glory. I got to deepen a relationship with a brother in the Lord and greater depths of God’s wisdom and knowledge was revealed. I thank God for giving me the patience to embrace these setbacks. He is wonderful.
If you desire to purchase a copy of either of my books, please visit my websites: www.GoSoulwinning.com or www.LawrenceBowman.com and purchase one or both books. Please remember that your purchase will help for the savings of a building fund for a men’s home. The proceeds of the sales of the books go into a special bank account to save up to build a men’s home. I look forward to the day when God provides the money for a Christ-centered-Bible-based men’s home to be built. Until that day, 1 Corinthians 7:24 encourages me to keep serving God today in the capacities that He privileges me to do.
Thank you for your prayers. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at anytime.
Your brother in Christ,
Lawrence Bowman
